❤️ CHARACTER CARE POLICIES & PROCEDURES
At Imaginations Carnival and Characters LLC, our characters are there to make your celebration exciting, interactive, and unforgettable! Our performers work hard to bring your favorite characters to life, and we ask that all guests treat our characters with kindness and respect.
These policies are in place to protect our performers, costumes, and guests while allowing everyone to have a wonderful experience.
🧸 1. TREAT OUR CHARACTERS WITH KINDNESS
Our characters are performers wearing professional costumes. Please remind children before the character arrives that the character is there to play, dance, take pictures, and celebrate with them.
Children should always treat the character the same way they would want to be treated.
🚫 2. NO HITTING
Hitting, kicking, punching, pushing, slapping, tackling, or intentionally hurting a character is strictly prohibited.
Our characters love to interact with children, but physical aggression can injure the performer inside the costume.
If a child becomes overly excited or begins hitting the character, the parent or supervising adult will be asked to immediately intervene.
🐾 3. DO NOT PULL TAILS
If the character has a tail, ears, hair, clothing, accessories, or other costume features, please do not pull, tug, twist, or hang onto them.
Costume pieces can be damaged or pulled off, and some areas may be uncomfortable or unsafe for the performer.
🎭 4. DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE CHARACTER'S HEAD
NEVER attempt to remove, lift, pull, push, or grab the character's head or mask.
The character's head is part of the costume and must remain securely in place throughout the appearance.
Children should never attempt to uncover the performer or see who is inside the costume.
👕 5. DO NOT PULL OR GRAB THE COSTUME
Please do not pull on the character's arms, legs, clothing, costume pieces, or accessories.
Gentle high-fives, handshakes, hugs, dancing, and appropriate interaction are encouraged when welcomed by the performer.
🤗 6. HUGS & PHYSICAL INTERACTION
Our characters love hugs and positive interaction!
However, please allow the performer to determine what physical interaction is safe and appropriate.
Children should never force a hug, climb on the character, jump on the character, sit on the character, or hold onto the character's body.
📸 7. PHOTOS
We LOVE taking pictures!
Guests may take photographs and videos during the character appearance. Please allow the performer enough space to move safely and interact with the children.
When taking group pictures, please listen to the character performer or staff member so everyone can safely participate.
👨👩👧 8. PARENT & ADULT SUPERVISION
Parents, guardians, and event hosts are responsible for supervising children during the character appearance.
Our character performer is there to entertain, not to provide childcare or babysitting services.
Parents should remain nearby and be prepared to assist if a child becomes overly excited or does not follow the character care rules.
⚠️ 9. EXCESSIVE OR UNSAFE BEHAVIOR
If a guest repeatedly hits, kicks, pulls, grabs, tackles, damages, or otherwise mistreats the character, the performer may step away from that guest or stop interacting with them.
If unsafe behavior continues, Imaginations Carnival and Characters LLC reserves the right to end the character appearance early for the safety of the performer.
🧒 10. PLEASE PREPARE CHILDREN BEFORE THE PARTY
We strongly recommend that parents and hosts explain the rules to children before the character arrives.
A simple reminder such as:
"We can hug the character gently, give high-fives, dance, take pictures, and have fun—but we do not hit, pull, climb, or try to take the costume apart."
can make the experience much smoother and more enjoyable.
❤️ 11. RESPECT OUR PERFORMERS
There is a real person working inside every character costume.
Our performers may have limited visibility, limited hearing, restricted movement, and limited ability to communicate while wearing the costume.
Please give our performers enough room to safely walk, dance, pose, and interact.
🚨 12. COSTUME DAMAGE
The customer may be responsible for damage caused by intentional or negligent behavior, including:
- Pulling off costume pieces
- Tearing the costume
- Pulling tails, ears, hair, or accessories
- Attempting to remove the character's head
- Spilling food or drinks on the costume
- Using markers, paint, slime, or other damaging substances
- Any intentional mistreatment of the costume
Additional charges may apply for repairs, cleaning, or replacement when damage is caused by misuse.
